Mail Server Delays
Due to the anti-virus filter crashing at around 4:30am this morning, all emails in the system would have been marked as 'delayed' and not allowed to be delivered. This would have affected both incoming and outgoing emails. The problem was only corrected by 7:30am when I checked my email 
When either the anti-spam or anti-virus programs stop working, the email system will not allow delivery so that we do not get flooded with virus and spam emails - this is a safety "feature" 
I have now extendedthe big brother monitoring software to check for instances of both these systems being running so that I will be notified asap should they stop working...
